Former Cedar Realty COO Nancy Mozzachio Files Charges Against Current CEO
CEO Bruce Schanzer is being accused of sexual harassment and pay discrimination charges by the company’s former Chief Operating Officer Nancy H Mozzachio. Whether the lawsuit will proceed or not, the decision will be made by the judge in Brooklyn.
According to Nancy Mozzachio on her statement last Nov 2 to CEO Bruce Schanzer, she says that he was giving improper comments to ladies at work. Nancy also claims that CEO Schanzer he has made some unfit commentary about her breasts and maliciously calling her “babe”. Aside from those, CEO Shanzer is also said to make some inappropriate joke about bringing some Double Ds to work when the former COO was drinking some coffee. Also, the current CEO Schanzer is said to be giving out uncalled for hugs at work.
When she decided to proceed in filing a case of sexual harassment and pay disparity to court, her position has been terminated. Nancy’s meeting was canceled and removed from the company.
During 2015, Cedar Realty the company itself started on digging up some information regarding the lawsuit when they heard that an external investigator has also decided to do some digging. However, Nancy stated the accusations of the female employees who were experienced the same harassment as well were never looked into by the investigators. There was even one employee that reportedly went to Wall Street Journal to share her experience about Schanzer asking about the color of her underwear. Nancy Mozzachio is very well known for her triumphant career with the company. Nancy has proven her worth in the company, she has clearly made her way to the top. She started off as the Director for Leasing and the Vice President for Leasing in the year 2003 and 2004. Based on the allegations she has made about pay disparity, she is only receiving a small bonus incentive and a lower salary as Chief Operating Officer rather than the Chief Financial Officer and she expressed how unfair that is on her part knowing she should have the bigger pay. Cedar Realty has made a firm stand about how they plead no guilty and that through meticulous probing by the board, the result of the investigations were deemed has made the decision not to proceed with the lawsuit.
